Integrated sovereign company environment

Modernize identity, remote access, company files and email—without giving up control.

April Computers brings company identity, zero-trust-oriented private access, file collaboration and business email together as one managed environment.

The Essential environment integrates Keycloak, NetBird, Nextcloud and Mailu as one company package.

Avoid assembling and operating separate hosted services yourself. Run the environment on our infrastructure or on infrastructure your organization controls, with daily backups and optional separate-site disaster recovery.

Essential environment

Identity

Keycloak

One company identity for connected services.

Private access

NetBird

Policy-based access to approved services.

Company files

Nextcloud

Controlled file storage and collaboration.

Business email

Mailu

Managed mailboxes and webmail.

Infrastructure choice Daily backup Optional disaster recovery

Established open-source technologies, integrated as one environment and operated through April Site Operator.

A practical path forward

Three paths to a modern company environment.

01

Modernize an existing environment

Move progressively from fragmented identities, traditional remote access, isolated file services and separately operated email toward a more integrated environment.

02

Consolidate separate services

Bring identity, private networking, company files and email together instead of connecting, updating and supporting several independent hosted platforms yourself.

03

Retain infrastructure control

Deploy on infrastructure you own or select while April Computers operates the environment. Technical organizations can also discuss using April Site Operator themselves.

Identity, access, files and email

One coherent way to access company services, information and communication.

A company identity should do more than open one application. It should connect each employee to the services, information and communication tools required for their role.

Keycloak

One company identity

Centralize users, groups and authentication for connected services. Apply consistent authentication policies, configure multi-factor authentication and provide single sign-on.

NetBird

Identity-aware private access

Connect employees and authorized devices privately to company services. Apply access policies while keeping protected applications away from direct public exposure.

Nextcloud

Controlled file collaboration

Give teams a modern workspace for company files, shared folders and collaborative work while retaining control over where company information is stored.

Mailu

Managed business email

Provide company mailboxes and webmail in the same environment, with aliases, automatic replies, forwarding, spam filtering and antivirus protection.

More than separate applications

Receive one operated environment instead of another integration project.

Keycloak, NetBird, Nextcloud and Mailu are all available separately. The value of the April Computers environment comes from integrating the required services and operating them as one company package.

One access model

Company identities and groups provide a common foundation for authentication, private connectivity and application access.

Coordinated lifecycle management

April Computers coordinates deployment, configuration, updates and capacity across the environment.

One operational responsibility

Your organization does not need to coordinate several providers when an integration, update or recovery process requires attention.

Environment-level protection

Backup and recovery are designed around the tenant’s complete environment rather than one isolated service.

Security through layers

Move beyond broad remote access toward an identity-aware model.

Traditional remote access often connects a user to a large part of an internal network. The integrated environment starts instead from company identity and explicit access policies.

No product creates complete security by itself. This combination provides a clearer foundation for identity, least-privilege access, data control and secure remote work.

Centralized authentication and configurable MFA
Private access based on users, groups and services
Fewer protected applications exposed directly to the Internet
Clearer onboarding, role changes and offboarding
Customer data stored on encrypted data volumes
Private encrypted connections across the environment

Keep meaningful choices

Sovereignty in practical terms.

Sovereignty is not only about where a server is located. It is the ability to make informed choices about technology, data, infrastructure and operations.

Choose your infrastructure

Use April Computers infrastructure, infrastructure controlled by your organization, or a combination of sites.

Choose data locations

Select where the active environment and disaster-recovery copies are maintained.

Use transparent technology

Build on open-source foundations for identity, access, files and email.

Choose the operating model

Ask April Computers to operate the environment or discuss using April Site Operator in your own model.

Sovereignty does not mean operating everything alone. It means retaining choices while selecting the operational support your organization needs.

Prepared for failure

Daily protection with optional recovery at a separate site.

Each managed site is protected by daily backups.

With disaster recovery enabled, application data is transferred every day and restored on a separate recovery site. The required database data, persistent storage, application versions and capacity profiles are prepared for runtime activation.

If the active site is lost, the application runtime can be activated at the recovery site and managed gateways updated to redirect tenant traffic.

Recovery expectations

Disaster recovery, not high availability.

The recovery environment reflects the latest successful daily recovery cycle, so up to 24 hours of recent changes may be lost.

Recovery time depends on the application environment and the validation required during activation. The service does not promise active-active operation, zero downtime or automatic failover.

The platform behind the operations

Operate applications consistently across tenants and sites.

April Site Operator is the application operations platform developed by April Software and used by April Computers.

It manages applications, tenants and sites from a GitOps source of truth. April Site Operator keeps application versions and capacity profiles aligned, coordinates active and recovery sites, and works with Kubernetes and Argo CD to apply the intended configuration.

The platform operates the April Computers application environment, including the Mailu email service. It can also support other multi-tenant and multi-site application catalogues.

Applications and tenants

Define which applications and profiles each tenant requires.

Versions and capacity

Detect configuration gaps and align deployed environments.

Active and recovery sites

Coordinate application runtime and persistent data across sites.

Flexible application catalogues

Use repository-defined applications beyond the Essential package.

From your current environment to an operated service

A modernization path based on your existing situation.

01

Review your current environment

Identify the identity systems, remote access, file services, email, infrastructure and recovery requirements already in place.

02

Define the target model

Select applications, infrastructure locations, operating responsibilities and disaster-recovery sites.

03

Deploy and operate

April Computers integrates and operates the environment while April Site Operator manages its application lifecycle.

Modernize your company environment while keeping control over its future.

Bring company identity, private access, file collaboration and business email together without integrating and operating separate platforms yourself.
