Use cases

Start from the outcome your organization needs.

Modernize essential company services, operate selected applications, retain infrastructure control, prepare for recovery or bring AI closer to your documents and data.

April Computers combines managed application operations with a choice of infrastructure and sites. The right starting point depends on what you already operate and what you want to change.

Modernize an existing environment

Move away from fragmented accounts, broad remote access and isolated services.

An established organization may already have separate application accounts, traditional remote-network access, a file server and independently managed email.

April Computers can plan a staged transition toward centralized identity, policy-based private access, controlled file collaboration and managed business email.

The objective is not to replace everything at once. Services move according to dependencies, data volumes and the organization’s priorities.

1. Review

Identify current identities, access, files, email and infrastructure.

2. Sequence

Choose which services and users move first.

3. Transition

Validate access and move data through controlled stages.

A complete company foundation

Deploy the Essential environment as one managed package.

A newer organization—or one ready for a coordinated replacement—can begin with all four Essential applications and their selected profiles.

Keycloak, NetBird, Nextcloud and Mailu provide identity, private access, company files and business email within one operated environment.

Nextcloud

Mailu

Application-by-application

Select managed applications and profiles individually.

Not every organization needs the complete Essential package. Application profiles allow a managed environment to reflect the capacity and services actually required.

Choose applications

Select the applications that fit the operating model, subject to technical dependencies.

Choose profiles

Match application capacity, storage, backup and operational resources to the intended use.

Extend later

Add applications or move to another profile as requirements evolve.

Infrastructure control

Run managed applications on infrastructure your organization controls.

Organizations with suitable infrastructure can retain ownership and location control while April Computers performs the agreed application and infrastructure operations.

Assess suitability

Review capacity, storage, connectivity and maintainability.

Retain ownership

Keep infrastructure under organizational control.

Define responsibilities

Agree who operates each technical layer.

Improve progressively

Add capacity according to actual service needs.

Separate-site disaster recovery

Prepare application data and configuration at another site.

An organization can keep its active environment at one location while April Computers maintains application data and intended configuration at a separate recovery site.

If the active site is lost, recovery is an operated process: services are activated, validated and managed gateways updated.

Clear limits

Daily recovery, not high availability.

Up to 24 hours of recent changes may be lost. Recovery time depends on activation and validation.

The service does not promise active-active operation, continuous replication, zero downtime or automatic failover.

Integrated AI

Use April Flow with selected documents and data.

Organizations can run AI-enabled services in a controlled environment close to their documents, data and infrastructure strategy.

April Flow allows users to ask questions over selected document Collections, receive contextual answers and verify them through supporting extracts.

Software providers and infrastructure operators

Operate broader application catalogues across customers and sites.

A technical organization may need more than the April Computers service catalogue. April Site Operator can coordinate repository-defined applications, profiles, versions, customer environments and sites.

The platform uses a GitOps source of truth and works with Kubernetes and Argo CD to apply intended configuration across active and recovery sites.
